Independent Contractor requirements to work with MMI

SUB-CONTRACTOR ELIGIBILITY

  • All Independent contractors must be incorporated and have a EIN number for their corporation – personal social security numbers cannot be used
  • MMI will work with three types of corps:
    • S-corp.
    • C-Corp.
    • LLC Corp. (that has filed the corporate election only)
  • Sub-Contractor Documents as stated under Section A (below) are required in full. (NO EXECEPTIONS)
  • Insurance requirements as stated in Section B are required.
  • Payments to all IC Corps are made on a Net 30 day basis and invoices must be presented on corporate letterhead.
  • Your first payment is via paper check.  All subsequent payments are made via ACH/direct deposit electronic transfers – this is a mandatory program

SECTION A:  SUB-CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS

  • Signed copy of the MMI sub-contractor agreement. Read the agreement before you take the client interview
  • Copy of I9 Form along with supporting document indicating Worker’s Legal Status (here is a copy of document or combinations that are acceptable – US Passport, Permanent Resident Card, Driving License, Social Security Number, International Passport, Visa approval, H1B Approval, EAD, etc.)
  • Must provide Federal EIN# on completed W9 (International corps must register with IRS and obtain an EIN # and file a W8 form)
  • Must provide Copy of Articles of Incorporation.  Consultant must be corporate principle for Citigroup assignments.
  • Must provide Copy of certificate of insurance.
  • Must provide Copy of your most recent Federal 941 payroll tax filing or a copy of your W2 issued by your corp.
  • LLC’s must provide a copy of form 8832 (Corporate Election form)

SECTION B: INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Before providing services, Subcontractor will obtain for itself and its personnel at its own expense  General Liability Insurance in the amount of not less than $100,000
  • Additional insurance required for Credit Suisse Assignments
  • Must provide copy of Certificate of Insurance naming Mitchell Martin Inc. as an additional insured.
