A reputable hospital located in Queens has an need for a AVP of Patient Care Services. This position responsible for the overall administration of patient services, including coordination of services with the interdisciplinary team, and appropriately delegating responsibility to nurse managers. Plan and set goals and objectives for the Medical Center to include determining services needed, the most effective way to provide these services and the resources necessary to support them. Manage and direct the Center’s operations which will include establishing goals, monitoring statistics, developing work plans, managing facilities and supervising on a day-to-day basis. Provides leadership for and participates in program development and overall agency planning, including development of policies, procedures and guidelines to fulfil Nursing department objectives. Schedule: Day shift
Keeps abreast of and monitors hospital compliance with applicable state/federal regulations for licensure hospital certification.
Acts as Alternate to Administrator in the absence of the Chief Clinical Officer for matters related to patient care.
In conjunction with the Clinical Staffing Managers, provide leadership and oversight for the department of nursing in the absence of the VP of nursing.
Serves as an effective role model for nursing personnel.
Oversees and coordinates with QAPI Manager for continuous improvement by identifying and working on processes that will most benefit patients and their families.
Implements minimum weekly visit standards, visit performance standards, clinical documentation requirements and other clinical expectations. Documents and counsels individual clinicians related to compliance with standards monthly and as a part of the annual review process.
Valid NYS RN License
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
Five years of progressive management experience with emphasis on program management and design, compliance, policy and procedure development, staff supervision, and coordination of services
Demonstrated ability to motivate staff for high levels of performance.
Demonstrated effective leadership and management skills.
