Nehal Shah is someone who embodies those qualities, plus a whole lot more. We caught up with Nehal to ask her some questions about her recent experiences and how she came to be so successful in her current assignment.
Tell us a little about yourself – when you’re not busy being an IT superstar, what other things do you like to do?
I love to travel and explore new places with family around the world. Whenever I have some time, I like to do outdoor activities – hiking, biking, canoeing.
How long have you been on your current assignment?
I have been working on this assignment for about 2 years and 4 months.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
At BMS, I have the opportunity to work with incredible team members sharing the same spirit of innovation and passionate mindset to achieve our goals and connect with them which I enjoy the most.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I like to work on challenging projects where I can solve real time business issues and ease the process for clients.
How did you come to work with Mitchell Martin?
I was looking for a new assignment and at the same time Veenu Malik from Mitchell Martin was looking to fill a position for the Celgene team called Global knowledge group (GKG) for Corporate Affairs. I was interviewed and was very much interested in the role right away. The GKG team was looking for someone to come and solve their day-to-day collaboration and communication needs using SharePoint as a platform.
Can you give a general overview of your project at BMS?
The project is called Rapid Action data decisioning (RADD). At BMS there are scientists and researchers working on drug studies who need data for their ongoing studies. Earlier, this approval process used to take more than 6 weeks of time and sometimes could take up to 4 months. Due to delay in approval, sometimes scientists use to miss the deadline for filing. With the new automated process in place, the turnaround time is between 5-10 days.
What qualities do you possess that make you so successful in your current role?
Paying attention to details and patience.
What is your typical approach to beginning a project and what are some of the typical tools, technologies, internal teams/stakeholders and skills that you would work with?
My typical approach is to first design the process, once finalized build and test using different use cases and deliver. Tools I used – Modern SharePoint, Power apps, flows & Microsoft suite.
