Bringing More Ownership to More People

We’re proud to announce that Mitchell Martin has joined the Expanding ESOPs Coalition, a national alliance of companies, investors, and advocates working to make employee ownership more accessible across all industries.

As an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company, we believe in the power of shared success. And as one of the few staffing firms structured this way, we know how rare it still is in our industry—despite the clear benefits. That’s exactly why we’re joining forces with others who are working to change that.

We’re proud to have joined the Expanding ESOPs Coalition, led by Danny Massey, a group dedicated to promoting employee ownership as a path to a more inclusive and resilient economy.

Our journey began when we started exploring becoming an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) ourselves—and along the way, we discovered Ownership Works, founded by Pete Stavros. Their mission deeply resonated with us and helped shape our belief in the power of shared ownership.

This 13-minute TED Talk by Pete Stavros captures the heart of the movement:
The Secret Ingredient of Business Success

We believe employee ownership better balances the interests of all stakeholders—employees, customers, investors, and communities—and represents a stronger, more sustainable model for the future of business.

We encourage other companies to explore whether an employee ownership structure—whether through an ESOP or other models—is right for them. The journey is worth it.

Why we joined

Employee ownership gives more people a real stake in the outcome. It helps close wealth gaps, improves retention, deepens engagement, and creates stronger, more resilient companies. We’ve seen it firsthand—and we believe more organizations should have the opportunity to do the same.

We’re not just advocating for this in staffing—we’re part of a broader movement to expand access to ownership in companies of all kinds.

What we’re hoping to achieve:

As a member of the coalition, we’re committed to:

  • Raising awareness of employee ownership and the positive impact it has
  • Supporting national efforts to make ESOPs and similar models more attainable
  • Showing what’s possible when employees are also owners

Ownership shouldn’t be reserved for the few. We believe it should be built into the future of work—and we’re proud to be helping make that future a reality.
