MITCHELL MARTIN’S COMMITMENT TO WORKPLACE EQUALITY
At Mitchell Martin, we are deeply saddened by the recent events, including the death of George Floyd and other tragedies that have occurred across the country. Prior to the incidents surrounding George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and other victims of systemic racism, we were dealing with the global pandemic of COVID-19 which also had a significant impact on the Black community. As a country, and globally, we are dealing with a great deal of grief and loss and we recognize the challenges many of our employees have had to face this year.
At Mitchell Martin, we are committed to listening to our employees, our customers and our partners to explore ways and ideas on how we can do better. “We are agile” is one of our core values and we, at Mitchell Martin, believe that we all need to work together to create change.
Mitchell Martin has always had a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to racism and discrimination. However, we constantly strive to do better and want to work more diligently to advocate for diversity and inclusion in our workplaces. Ultimately, it will take action, not words, to make that change happen. In our commitment to racial justice we will be looking inward at our internal practices, we will continue the work that we do with organizations like NPower, Per Scholas and PepUp Tech and we will work with our clients to educate, assist and promote diverse hiring efforts.
We are forming internal diversity and inclusion committees dedicated to supporting these initiatives. We also practice an open door policy and encourage you to reach out to our executive leadership team with any other thoughts, suggestions, ideas or concerns.
We are listening. We are learning. Together we will do better.
Regards,
Gene Holtzman
