Meetings for Meaning

Show Up. Give Back.

Throughout the month of July, Mitchell Martin is connecting qualified hiring manager meetings with charitable giving.

If you are responsible for building and staffing technology teams, book a meeting with one of our account executives to learn how we can help. We will spend time understanding your open roles, your team’s priorities, and where you are having the hardest time finding the right people. At the end of that conversation, we will make a donation in your name to a charity of your choice. No strings attached. Just a real conversation about your talent needs and a contribution to a cause that matters.

Alyson Smolenski

Account Executive

I grew up in a big Jersey family where summers meant Long Beach Island and fall meant Eagles games with everyone I love. My husband came to this country from Vietnam and built something extraordinary here, including a full food forest in our backyard during Covid. I have a best friend in my stepdaughter Cobie and a wild, wonderful 3-year-old named Zander keeping us on our toes. Family is the whole thing for me.

My Charities:

Drive Smart

My sister Kristin is the executive director of Drive Smart, so I’ve seen up close what this organization does every day. Drive Smart’s Junior Speedbusters program puts students in real-time speed monitoring situations near school zones. They’re seeing the data, watching traffic, and understanding why the rules exist. With eight kids in my family who will all eventually be drivers, I want them going into that experience with real knowledge and respect for the road.

What $30 Does

  • Helps fund speed monitoring equipment and educational materials used in Junior Speedbusters programs
  • Contributes toward the distracted driving simulator that has already reached over 40,000 students
  • Covers outreach events where Drive Smart brings traffic safety education directly into schools and communities

Girls Who Code

My stepdaughter Cobie is 10 years old and already one of the most driven people I know. What started as a Pokémon obsession turned into a serious desire to design video games. She placed into advanced math for middle school this year, she’s a gifted artist, and she is already chasing this with everything she has. Girls Who Code is built for girls exactly like her. Supporting this organization means more families find what we found: a real community and real resources for girls who are ready to build.

What $30 Does

  • Helps provide free club curriculum covering over 120 hours of coding activities for grades 3–12
  • Supports need-based grants for students who qualify
  • Funds free summer programs in game design, cybersecurity, and web development

I grew up just outside of Boston, spent years as a competitive gymnast, and married my husband Logan in 2024. I believe in showing up prepared, moving fast, and doing work that actually means something. Outside of the office you’ll find me strength training, making lattes, or traveling with Logan whenever we can swing it. Margot, our brindle pittie, handles security.

My Charities:

Charity:Water

Nearly 700 million people don’t have reliable access to clean water. Charity: Water builds wells and filtration systems across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. They use private donors to cover operating costs, so public donations fund water projects directly. When a project is complete, they send GPS coordinates and photos of exactly what your money built.

What $30 Does

  • Helps fund wells, spring protection, and filtration systems that serve entire communities for years
  • Supports maintenance programs that keep water sources functional long-term
  • Funds reporting infrastructure that lets every donor track exactly where their money went

Code.org

Most K–12 schools in the U.S. don’t offer computer science. That gap hits hardest in the districts that can least afford it. Code.org works with school districts to put CS in classrooms that have never had it, training teachers, building free curriculum, and pushing policy that treats computer science like the core subject it is. Over 70 million students have learned through their platform.

What $30 Does

  • Funds free curriculum and teacher training in schools running CS for the first time
  • Supports advocacy that has driven CS education legislation where it didn’t previously exist
  • Contributes to programs that have brought coding to millions of students for the first time
